Description

• Data sources and Data categories (statistics, structured, unstructured, big data, etc.).
• Collection, pre-processing and management of data in different formats, CSV, XML, JSON, etc.
• Data representation based on vector model – Text transformation.
• Structured data management (arrays, vectors, databases, accessibility, data sharing, data governance, ethics and privacy).
• Data analysis – Relevance and similarity – Elements of statistical analysis – Data quality.
• Presentation, visualization and exploitation of data.
• Functional utilization of data (from the end user's perspective).
• Applications and examples of data collection, processing, presentation and analysis in the humanities.

Learning Outcomes. After the course the student will be able to:

• Understand the concept of data and data analysis in the Humanities.
• Represent and organize data.
• Select appropriate models for their analysis.
• Recognize patterns in the data and draw useful conclusions from their processing.
• Manage large volumes of data.
• Use effective methods of data utilization.
