Course Outline
This course will cover two broad areas. The first part will focus on international finance aspects, including the structure of the foreign exchange market, concepts of exchange rates, and exchange rate regimes. We then introduce some fundamental relationships in international finance, including the purchasing power parity and interest rate parities, and consider the factors that determine exchanges rates in the long-run and the short -run. We analyse the balance of payments, emphasising the implications of the current account, and financial globalization. The second part will focus on macroeconomic policies, namely monetary, fiscal, and financial stability policies, as well as on international financial integration and foreign-exchange policy. (The course will not cover trade, growth, and development policies.)

Assessment
Term paper and participation.
Attendance
The course is open to students that have passed all the courses of Microeconomics and Macroeconomics of the first year. The course is not open to PhD candidates.
