Welcome to our e-class! In this workshop you will deal with issues related to authenticity of both materials and tasks in the Young Learners' and Teens' classroom. 

First, you will deal with the characteristics and abilities of those two age groups as learners of a foreign language. Then, there will be some reference to the role of the EFL teacher as the provider of the right materials and the designer of the appropriate tasks.

The questions that will be mainly addressed will be those of a) authentic materials and b) authenticity of tasks so that cross-thematic and interdisciplinary learning is secured. You will have the chance to see lots of examples of the effective use of adequate materials and tasks from the actual classroom and lots of practical suggestions will be offered.

As participants, you will be asked to get involved in planning tasks, practical activities and small scale projects for specific classroom situations using authentic tasks and materials.

You will be assessed on the basis of: a) small tasks prepared after each session, and, b) a bigger project handed in upon completion of the workshop. 

Previous knowledge of Lesson Planning is required for successful completion of tasks.
