Περιγραφή Μαθήματος

This course offers a general introduction to the main theatrical terms, concepts, and movements as well as the political theory and cultural history that inform contemporary Anglophone theatre. Armed with this knowledge, the students analyze representative works of 20th-Century tragedy, social realism, expressionism, the theatre of the absurd, and comedy of menace, with the aim of gaining an appreciation of the form and function of these different styles of drama and developing critical thought.
