Περιγραφή Μαθήματος

This 8th semester elective seminar investigates core texts of English Romanticism, mainly poetry but also prose from the late 18th to the early 19th century, through contemporary posthumanist perspectives. Critical aspects of romantic thought will be addressed through the investigation of such concepts as ecology, the environment, creativity, the posthuman, the nonhuman, climate change, while theoretical approaches to romanticism in the age of the Anthropocene will be discussed. Primary sources will be studied through secondary material such as critical and scholarly articles on romanticism, and subsequently students will have to create their own critical texts by combining the primary and secondary material they have read in class or at home.
