Welcome to our survey of U.S. fiction, a course designed to offer you an overview of the great works and shifts of American literature in prose. Starting from the 18th century onward, the course aims to point at the diversity, richness and socio-historical dimensions of anglophone fiction in the United States of America.

While the instructor will provide introductory and analytical lectures for each item and period, your strong participation is necessary for the smooth function of this course. Your final grade will be determined by a final examination on the material and methods learned in class.
