Course Description

This module introduces students to the two sets of model rules for a unified European Tort Law, “The Principles of European Tort Law (PETL)” drafted by the European Group on Tort Law (EGTL) and “The Νon-contractual liability arising out of damage caused to another”, drafted by  the Study Group on a European Civil Code and the Acquis Group .

Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to

• Understand, compare and use the principles of European Tort Law.
• discuss the major issues and the latest developments in European Tort law
• Compare the Tort law of their country with the proposed European one.
• apply such knowledge and offer creative solutions.
